At Defense Pest Control we apply all our materials in a manner that follows laws and regulations set by the State of California. We apply pesticides selectively in areas to target certain pests around your home and to avoid disturbing beneficial pests, like bees and other pollinating insects. We use Integrated Pest Management (IPM) when possible, only applying pesticides when needed, and do our part to ensure we are protecting the environment. We take special care to apply our pesticides in a way that does not harm children or pets.

 Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Waking up to a bat flying around in your bedroom in the middle of the night brings a lot of stress into the home! Now, I’ve been a regular customer with another popular pest control service for several years, but when I asked them to come out, they said they don’t work with bats… which is what led me to find Defense Pest Control. The owner, Leish, showed up to my home in Nevada City and gave the most thorough inspection I’ve experienced! He even found entry points for a rat problem that my previous pest control company didn’t find (or even bother to look for as thoroughly). He removed the ants, wasp nests and spiderwebs from my perimeter eaves, patio and deck around my home and detached garage. He treated my exterior foundation, eaves, patio and deck plus doorways of both structures. Since I was not home for this, he came back to spray the inside of the garage. We have been using them for over a year on a rental property in Sacramento, and the tenants haven't called me about ants or other critters since they took over. Anytime I contact them the response time is almost immediate. Recently an AC tech discovered fairly large wasp nests in our AC unit at our primary residence. I called defense and they were out the next morning. The technician did some  checks and found that the nests were dormant. Since they didn't actually have to provide pest control services he waived the service charge. That was a pleasant surprise, because a technician did come out, got on the roof, and spent the time to confirm it was dormant and safe for us to knock down the nests.

Leish came out to my property, assessed my situation, was incredibly knowledgeable on all things bugs, incredibly friendly, and knocked out the job with no questions asked. I called Defense Pest Control because it sounded like the rats were having a dance party in our attic! 😂 Leish and his team have been fantastic—professional, prompt, thorough, and great communicators. Leish is second generation in the business, and it shows! They go above and beyond to find and patch entry points, even in hard-to-reach places. Taylor, who handles scheduling, is awesome too.  Verified Great company and great service! We called Defense Pest Control after hearing what sounded like a rodent party happening in our attic! From scheduling with Taylor to working with Leish and the technicians, every interaction has been excellent. Leish really knows his stuff. Being second generation in the pest control business definitely shows in the attention to detail. They don't just treat the problem--they take the time to find and seal up entry points, even when they're difficult to reach. Professional, responsive, thorough, and genuinely great to work with. Very nice and honest. Seems like a trustworthy business. Original: I called them and got some sort of AI receptionist. I couldn't tell if a real person until they didn't answer for a while.  Verified Leish and his team are top notch. We live on a little bit of property in Newcastle CA and the bugs were taking over. Leish was able to get our situation under control and help with a bat issue that was much larger than we thought. I have had  pest control for the past 10 plus years  My previous one was a local, and they were with me for 6 plus years.   Rates kept going up, I get it.  So I called Taylor @ Defense Pest, on 7/2/2026 whom I was referred to.  They came out on Monday 7/6/2026 for the first visit.  Our Tech is Oscar, and he is already a Rock Star.  In the first visit not only did he super treat the house and walkways etc, he did a thorough  cleaning of the eves of the house and found 3 Wasps nest.  Know you may say, no biggie... but for me, who is alergic  it is a huge deal.  So thank you Oscar.  Now we know why that other pest control company is a "PREVIOUS"..  So if your needing pest control and like supporting the Small Business Owner, that makes you feel like family then give Taylor a call and let her work her magic.   Thanks again...
